摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to control the motion characteristic of a vehicle without restriction, by controlling the steering angle of wheels such that a desired motion characteristic previously set may be realized as a motion characteristic of the instant vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A desired motion variable computing means 102 computes a side slip angle or a lateral displacement rate corresponding to a vehicle speed V detected by a vehicle speed detecting means 100 and a steering angle thetas by a steering wheel detected by a steering wheel steered angle detecting means 101 in accordance with a vehicle model having a desired motion characteristic. A desired wheel steering angle value computing means 103 computes a desired value delta of the steering angle of front or rear wheels for realizing a desired value beta of the side slip angle and a desired value y' of the lateral displacement rate in the instant vehicle in accordance with the computed desired value betaof the side slip angle, the computed desired value y' of the lateral displacement rate and the dimensions of the instant vehicle. Wheel steering means 104 steers the wheels corresponding to the desired value of the wheel steering angle.
