PURPOSE:To enable a profile cross section part to be accurately present at a desired position with respect to the whole length and to accurately control the position of a profile cross section part even in a long article having no insert therein. CONSTITUTION:A manufacturing apparatus is equipped with an extrusion molding device 5, a marking device 6, a vulcanizing device 7, a cooling device 8, a taking-up device 9 and a cutting device 10. An unvulcanized weather strip is molded into a predetermined shape by the extrusion molding device 5 and the cross-sectional shape of the molded strip is appropriately altered by a movable orifice plate and a roller cutter. Before the roller cutter is inwardly moved, marking is applied in predetermined timing and, when the roller cutter is outwardly moved, marking is applied in predetermined timing and this operation is repeated. In the cutting device 10, cutting is performed on the basis of each mark to obtain a weather strip. Therefore, necessary length is obtained even when no insert is used and the accurate position of a profile cross section part can be set. |
