PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer carrier having stable and proper electric charge even if pictures are repeatedly delivered by developer on the developer carrier and capable of providing high quality images by preventing non- uniformity or unevenness, image density reduction and ghosts. SOLUTION: In a developer carrier used for a developing device, a coating layer is provided in its substrate surface and the coating layer is composed of at least a connecting resin and resin particles 0.3 to 30μm in number average particle diameter and having charging materials stuck of fixed to its surface or in the vicinity of the surface. Preferably, the particle diameter of resin particles treated with the charging materials for its surface is set within a range of 0.3 to 30μm for number average particle diameter. If the particle diameter is smaller than 0.3μ, it is difficult to obtain uniform surface roughness and, conversely if the particle diameter is larger than 30μm; since particles are excessively protruded from the carrier surface, the thickness of the developer layer is made too large and developer charging is not enough or made non-uniform. |
