PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-directional switch device that can solve a problem occasionally generated by the operation of a button other than intended by an operator, especially the problem of the careless operation of the panic button that sounds a horn to indicate an emergency in a car. SOLUTION: A case, press button switch housed in the case, an operation component that is supported by the case so as to be able to tilt in four directions of a cross shape and that controls the press button switch by the tilt operation in each direction are provided. The operation component can be tilted to a first and a second tilt operations tilting opposite to each other with respect to the center of tilting and to a third and a fourth tilt operation tilting opposite to each other with respect to the center of tilting and crossing to the first and the second tilt operations at right angles. The operation force increasing means is provided by making the tile operation force to the fourth tilt position bigger than the tile operation force to the first, the second and the third tilt positions in the tilt operation of the tilt component.
