PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior liquid crystal display, having reflection display characteristics free from image blurs by brightening the white display to obtain a white-like color tone and satisfactorily darkening the black display to obtain high contrast. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 15, a first and a second optical retardation plates 17 and 18 and a polarizing plate 19 are successively laminated on a liquid crystal panel 16, and an optical scattering layer 20 lies between the first and the second optical retardation plates 17 and 18. The optical scattering layer 20 may be substituted for an adhesive material (transparent resin) for sticking the first and the second optical retardation plates 17 and 18 to each other, and the adhesive material is made to have a haze degree of 48-67, by incorporating plastic beads 21 to be transparent fine particles into the adhesive material. |
