PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise information management system for efficiently registering merchandise information in a merchandise database in each retailer. SOLUTION: A common merchandise database for storing merchandise information that can be utilized by all of a plurality of retailers is prepared. Each retailer can efficiently prepare merchandise information to be registered in his/her own merchandise database in a short time by utilizing the merchandise information preregistered in the common merchandise database. An employer can be urged to positively register merchandise information in the common merchandise database by paying a prescribed charge for merchandise information to be utilized to the employer who registers the merchandise information in the common merchandise database when the merchandise information registered in the common merchandise database is utilized.
