PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a drive having a brake function and a clutch function. SOLUTION: The drive includes an electric drive source 41 serving as the source of driving force imparted to a door 1 of a vehicle movably supported against a side body 2 of the vehicle to open and close an entrance 21 formed in the side body 2; a frictional engagement mechanism 5 disposed between the door 1 and the electrical drive source 41 to assume a connecting state in which it transmits the driving force from the drive source 41 to the door 1, a disconnecting state in which it shuts off the transmission of the driving force from the drive source 41 to the door 1, and a braking state in which it applies a braking force to the movement of the door 1; an actuation source 55 for actuating the frictional engagement mechanism 5 into either the connecting state, the disconnecting state or the braking state; and a damping member 60 disposed between an output drum 61 and a rotor 53 for reducing impact loads applied from the rotor 53 to the output drum 61 or from the output drum 61 to the rotor 53. |
