PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixed combustion boiler for pulverized coal and natural gas capable of reducing a generation amount of soot and environmental pollution gases such as NOx, SOx, generated in using the pulverized coal with reduced quality and supplying predetermined calorific power, and its combustion method. SOLUTION: In the boiler where coal is pulverized and burned by a burner 20, and steam is generated with a water tube placed in a furnace, a natural gas feeding pipe 8 is inserted into a pulverized coal feeding pipe 3 so as to burn the mixture of the pulverized coal 1 and the natural gas 7 at an outlet of the burner 20.
