A synthetic multifilament fibre for lawns comprises a supporting polymer fiber and one or more optical fibres, wherein the supporting fibre has a flattened cross-section defining two lateral edges, and the one or more optical fibres are joined to the supporting fibre along one or two lateral edges of the support fibre. A grass tuft comprises a support layer, a light-conducting layer, one or more light emitters, and one or more synthetic multifilament fibres, the synthetic multifilament fibres extending through holes in the support layer, the light-conducting layer being applied to the underside of the support layer and glued to the surface of the one or more synthetic multifilament fibres, the one or more light emitters are optically coupled to the light-conducting layer, such that the light emitted by the one or more light emitters is led to the one or more optical fibres of the one or more synthetic multifilament fibres. A lawn or lawn module comprising a plurality of grass tufts is also disclosed. |
