The purpose of an embodiment of the present disclosure is to provide a method for running a plurality of (multiple) instances of the same application and an electronic device thereof. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for processing an application in an electronic device comprises: selecting at least one of a plurality of applications included in the electronic device; preprocessing the at least one selected application in a sandbox to be modified and isolated from other applications; and installing the at least one modified application on the electronic device so as to be executed only according to the sandbox.
