PURPOSE:To remove glyceline from an electrode without collapsing the shape of an electrode catalyst layer after coating an electrode substrate with paste when the electrode is molded from the paste dispersed and mixed with a catalyst, PTFE, and another water repellent material, if required. CONSTITUTION:The paste dispersed with fine grains of a noble metal or a noble metal alloy, a fluorinated polymer, and other water repellent grains in glyceline is applied to a porous electrode material, then it is heated to evaporate and remove glyceline. The evaporating temperature is set to 120-180 deg.C, preferably to 145-l60 deg.C, and heating is preferably applied in the inert gas stream. |
