Mixtures of dry chip and dust-type particles containing lignocellulose are glued by (a) adding particles of powdered binder to the particles dried to a residual moisture of 2-8C (b) circulating the mixture of particles and binder at such a high velocity that the particles of binder adhere to the lignocellulosic particles by electrostatic charges; and (c) after attaining uniform mixing adding sufficient moisture in finely divided form so that the particles of binder are dissolved and bind the finest chips and dust to the surface of the larger chips. Classification of the raw material into different sizes prior to treatment with the binder is eliminated and the prod. is more uniform. |
