1,178,646. Trailer braking systems. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU S. M. KIROW, VEB. 15 May, 1968, No. 23059/68. Heading F2F. The invention relates to self-propelled working machines e.g. cranes, agricultural or earthmoving machines having their own compressedair braking systems but capable of being towed. A multi-way valve is provided to switch the air line to a trailer control valve when being towed. The multi-way valve 8, when, turned for towing, disconnects the foot-brake-valve 4, and connects the brake cylinders 5 through a trailer control valve 11 to the reservoir 2 which is charged either by compressor 15, or through the control line 14 when on tow. A braking power control valve 12 may be provided. The trailer control valve 11 is connected through line 14 to the tractor. A two circuit air brake system with two reservoirs separated by non-return valves is illustrated in Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). This system also shows a spring-loaded air-released handbrake. |
