摘要 1359701 Spray producers SIEMENS AG 28 June 1971 [30 June 1970 15 June 1971 (3)] 30104/71 Heading B2F [Also in Divisions G3 H2 and H3] A vibrator comprises a piezo-electric transducer 1 excited in the bending mode and attached to a resonator plate 2 which is mechanically coupled to an output plate 4 by a coupling link, having a cross-section at least in part smaller than that of the transducer in a plane parallel to the transducer, the plate 4 having a resonance frequency matched to that of the plate 2. As shown in Fig. 1 the link 3 is cylindrical but it may be combined with the plate 2 to form a frusto-conical member (5), Fig. 2 (not shown). Plate 2 forms one electrode of the transducer, the other, 21, being attached to the outer face of the transducer. The vibrator may be used as a voltage converter by attaching a further transducer to the plate 4 from which an output voltage is taken, Fig. 3 (not shown). In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4. the outer electrode 21 of the transducer is replaced by two concentric electrodes 121, 221 one of which may be used to produce an output voltage for controlling an oscillator supplying the transducer. Such a vibrator is shown in Fig. 7 incorporated in a liquid atomiser, the vibrator being attached to a trough 70 for the liquid so that the plate 4 is inclined to the vertical to allow surplus liquid to run off assisted by a wick 77. Supply of liquid to the plate 4 is controlled by a feed device 73 in turn controlled by a switching circuit 71 linked to the drive oscillator for the vibrator so that a reduction in the amplitude of vibration of the vibrator caused, for example, by an excess supply of liquid, which will produce a reduction in the feed-back voltage from electrode 221, causes the feed device 73 to cut off until the vibration amplitude is fully restored.
