Compounds of the general <FORM:1108440/C2/1> in which R represents hydrogen or an alkyl group, are prepared by reacting an unsaturated aliphatic carbonyl compound of formula (R)2C=C(R)-C(R)=O with a diamine of formula NH2-C(R)2-C(R)2-NH2 in the presence of a condensing agent having a dehydrating character, e.g. a hydroxide, carbonate or alkoxide of an alkaline or alkaline earth metal. The compounds 7-methyl-5,7-diethyl - 1,4 - diazacycloheptane; 5,7,7 - trimethyl - 1,4 - diaza - 4 - cycloheptene and tetramethyl - 1,4 - diaza - 4 - cycloheptene are claimed per se. |
