<p>The appts. includes an air-operated aerosol generator, to whose outlet an outlet distribution pipe is attached. The distribution pipe is located in a circular or non-circular duct carrying the air to be treated, it can be spirally coiled to fit the duct and has a number of outlet orifices. Flow control of the liq. is achieved using a reservoir, an overflow level controller with a float-and-needle valve, and fine control valves for the air and liq. flows. The generator housing incorporates an air feed-pipe dipping into the liq. container. Its lower end is sealed off and the air issues horizontally from a hole in its side into the liq. The air discharge is covered by a horizontal plate below the level of the liq. The air is supplied at a press. (e.g. 0.5-3.0 bar), and a pump for the purpose can be incorporated in the housing. The press. selected depends on the size of the appts. The air jet is sprayed in a fan shape to the middle of the vessel and thereby atomises the liq. The quantity of aerosol dispensed can be controlled so that it corresponds with, or exceeds if required, the quantity of noxious matl. in the air stream.</p> |
