<p>The compressed gas bottle (8) screws into a recess (7) in the extinguisher head (2), this recess containing a shouldered pin (9) which pierces the bottle when a spring loaded plunger (11, 17), operated by the handle (32, 33), is forced against it. The gas passes up an axial hole (18) in the pin and through a passage in the head into the extinguisher body, the liquid flows through an outle tube (27) and is controlled by another spring loaded plunger (30, 31), also operated by the handle, this plunger having a head (28) fitted with a sealing washer (29) seating on the angled sides (25) of the outlet tube recess (23) in the extinguisher head.</p> |
