PURPOSE:To provide the smooth and easy start of an engine by a method wherein an operation gearing mechanism for a clutch operating means for transmitting a power of the engine to a propeller and a clutch is provided with a gearing member for enabling a fuel injection in case of starting of the engine to be increased only when the clutch is placed at its neutral position. CONSTITUTION:When a clutch operating lever 33 in an outboard engine is rotated, a detent lever 31 is rotated through a lever shaft and is changed over to forward, rearward and neutral positions of a clutch device (not shown) through an intermediate link 32, intermediate lever 28 and intermediate shaft 26 etc. In response to this changing-over operation, a linking cam 37 is rotated, and when a plunger 43 is engaged with a central groove 39 of a cam surface 40 of a cam 37, the plunger 43 is projected by a spring 45 to cause a wire 47 to be pulled in the same direction as that of the plunger. A stopper 57 is rotated to a two- point chained line position through a limitation releasing lever 58 under a pulling action of the wire 47 and so it is possible to move a control rod 53 for an injector in such a direction as causing a fuel volume to be increased. |
