<??>It relates to a method for sealing a junction, termination or other discontinuity in an electrical cable, consisting in applying an organosiloxane compound to the junction, termination or discontinuity, characterised in that the organosiloxane compound comprises: A, a resinous copolymer of R3SiO0.5 and SiO2 units in which each R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms inclusively and the ratio of the R3SiO0.5 units to the SiO2 units is in the range from 0.5:1 to 1.2:1, B, a polydiorganosiloxane having a viscosity of 0.02 to 100 Pa.s at 25 DEG C, in which at least 60% of the total organic substituents bonded to the silicon are methyl groups and all the remaining substituents are chosen from phenyl, vinyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy and hydroxyl groups and C, a ceramifiable filler, the composition being virtually free of hardener (curing agent) for A and/or B.
