<p>PURPOSE: To provide a connector for an electric wire which, in a manner of a switch, can connect or disconnect a plurality of wires and electric terminals. CONSTITUTION: This connector 2 for an electric wire comprises a first insulating housing 4 and a second insulating housing 8. The first insulating housing 4 contains an electric terminal 6, in which a wire-receiving groove 44 is formed, between a pair of elastic arms 35, 36. The second insulating housing 8 contains an aperture 56, through which the electric terminal 6 is to be inserted and a wire insertion route 48 at right angles to the aperture 56. When a wire L, of which the conductive wire W is exposed, is inserted into the wire insertion route 48 and moved in the second insulating housing 8 towards the first insulating housing 4 in the longitudinal direction of the electric terminal 6, the electric wire W is brought into contact with the wire-receiving groove 44 and the wire L, and the electric terminal 6 are thus elastically brought into contact with each other and switching operation can be obtained.</p> |
