In order to decouple the structural unit (11) the container (10) is brought into an inclined position by pivoting about a horizontal axis (15) in the rear region of the container until the structural unit is in contact with the ground. The coupling elements (16-18) of a locking device are then able to decouple automatically. Supports (13) on the outward side of the structural element are extended before or during the swivel movement of the container. Coupling is a reverse sequence of the decoupling action.
