The switch has a sensor to determine the difference in level between two neighbouring elements from the inclination of a support to the horizontal or a given position, or from the difference in level between two adjacent supports. If a certain threshold is exceeded, the sensor sends a signal to the adjacent lifting element. The sensor is fastened to a support or to a component that itself is fastened to a support. The sensor is an inclination sensor, measuring the angles relative to the horizontal, as described above, and also measures the change in distance between the sides of adjacent supports that face each other.
