PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a diagnostic agent capable of varying the amount of contrasting agent without giving influence on the pharmatokinetic and circulatory characteristics by including a sound-reflecting contrasting agent into spherical particles of a specific biodegradable nonimmune polymer having high biocompatibility. SOLUTION: The objective diagnostic agent can be produced by including (A) a sound-reflecting contrasting agent into (B) particles or spheres having particle diameter of <=10μm and composed of a biodegradable nonimmune polymer matrix having high biocompatibility and selected from carbohydrates, carbohydrate derivatives and synthetic resin polymers. The component B is e.g. acrylic acid ester resin, polystyrene or dextran. The component A is preferably a substance responding to magnetic field (e.g. a magnetic particle) to keep the particles in the target organ by the external application of a magnetic field. In the case of administering the objective agent to a blood circulatory system, the particle has a diameter of <=1μm and a hydrophilic surface to prevent the clogging in the peripheral vessel.
