PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an emphasized binary image from the gray scale input image data. SOLUTION: This method includes a step where the 1st image data, i.e., the gray scale image data which form an input image are received (a), a step S1 where the high frequency boost processing is given to the 1st image data to generate the 2nd image data (b), a step S2 where the linear interpolation processing is given to the 2nd image data to generate the 3rd image data which have higher resolution than the 2nd image data (c), a step S3 where the contrast emphasis processing is given to the 3rd image data to generate the 4th image data (d), and a step S4 where the threshold processing is given to the 4th image data to generate the 5th image data, i.e., the binary image data which define an output image (e). Thus, this method can be applied to the desktop scanning of documents and also to a video conference. |
