PURPOSE:To make fly ash stabilize and hardly soluble, and at the same time, utilize it effectively by baking a blend with a specified weight ratio of powdered fly ash and powdered ferric oxide, and producing ferrite incorporating heavy metals contained in the fly ash. CONSTITUTION:A blend of powered fly ash with powdered ferric oxide in a weight ratio of the former/the latter of 9/1 to 2/8 is baked at a temperature of 600 to 1100 deg.C, and thereby ferrite incorporating heavy metals contained in the fly ash is produced. Thus, the produced ferrite is hardly soluble, so that the elution of heavy metals contained in the fly ash does not occur, if the ferrite is soaked in hot water at 80 deg.C for one to five hours, for example. Consequently, the fly ash is highly stabilized. A ferromagnetic material of ferrite is prepared from the fly ash which is not used except for landfill as an industrial waste, and is ideally used for the effective utilization of natural resources. It is also expected that harmful chemical substances such as dioxin and cyan compounds could be thermally decomposed. |
