PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte, an electrolyte solution, or a solid electrolyte having high cycle characteristics, being used for an electrochemical device such as a lithium battery, a lithium ion battery, or an electrical double layer capacitor, and to provide a battery using either one of these electrolytes. SOLUTION: This electrolyte for the electrochemical device is composed of compounds having chemical structural formulas indicated by general formula (1) and general formula (2), general formula (3), or general formula (4), and the electrolyte solution or the solid electrolyte, and the battery use this electrolyte. In the general formulas, M shows a transition metal, or a metal element of the III, IV, or V group in the periodic table, and Aa+ shows a metal ion, a proton, or an onium ion.
