PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass where a large-sized glass is produced in such a manner that the temperature distribution between the central part and the side wall sides in a molding die (the temperature distribution between the vicinity of the central part and the vicinity of the side walls in a molten glass in the molding die in a cooling process till vitrifying) is controlled to±150°C, and to provide a glass molding device used for the production method. SOLUTION: The method for producing a glass comprises: a stage where a molten glass in a melting furnace is passed into a pipe fixed with a heat insulating member for preventing heat radiation of the molten glass, and the molten glass is made to flow into a molding die covered with a member having low thermal conductivity to the lower part of the heat insulating member; and a stage where the spacing between the lower part of the heat insulating member and the liquid surface of the molten glass made to flow into the molding die is made fixed.
