A device for assisting the opening movements 'of the hand comprises a member 4 suitable to engage the thumb and a member 3 suitable to engage a finger, the members being connected by spring means I which, in use, tends to move the finger and thumb apart. As shown, the device comprises a U-shaiped .thumb engaging member 4 connected by a rubber or plastics covered spring steel wire I to a ring-shaped finger engaging member 3. The spring steel wire fits into the palm of the hand or around the back of the hand and may be secured by a strap encircling the wrist. The member 3 may be U-shaped and there may be more than one member engaging each digit. Members to engage more than two digits may be provided. |
