PREPARATION OF CULTURED CELL HAVING HIGH PRODUCTIVITY OF TAXANE-TYPE DITERPENE

PURPOSE:To easily obtain cultured cell having high productivity of taxane-type diterpene by fractionating cultured cells of a plant capable of producing taxane- type diterpene taking advantage of specific gravity difference, culturing the fractionated cell and selecting cells having high productivity of taxane-type diterpene from the cultured cells. CONSTITUTION:Cultured cells of a plant capable of producing taxane-type diterpene (e.g. plant of the genus Taxus) are separated into plural groups taking advantage of specific gravity difference in the specific gravity range of usually 1.00-1.20g/mL, preferably 1.03-1.11g/mL. Cells included in at least one group (usually having a specific gravity of <=1.07) are cultured and cells having high productivity of taxane-type diterpene are selected from the cultured cells.
