PURPOSE:To realize a device and method for synthesizing sound capable of synthesizing the sound in real time only software without adding any hard-ware. CONSTITUTION:The sound element piece data held on a recording medium 16 are developed in a prescribed order in an unused area among and area of a RAM 23 capable of writing and reading speedily as compared with the recording medium 16. The sound element piece data developed in the RAM 23 are used preferentially than the sound element piece data held in the recording medium 16. Thus, since the access time to the sound element piece data is reduced, the sound is synthesized in real time only by the software without adding any hardware. |
