Calcium flurodie concentration from ores - by heat-treatment before flotation

CaF2-contg. ores are tempered before concentration, to cause grain-growth pref. between 500 degrees C and temp. closely below ore m.pt. pref. at 700-1000 degrees C esp. 700-900 degrees C partic. 800-900 degrees C. Treatment pref. takes 0.5 to several hrs. pref. is not >2 hrs. Tempering is carried out with agglomerated or briquetted ore and tempered ore is concentrated by flotation.
