A tube-bundle, spacer grillage for heat exchangers, consisting of thin, straight metal bands crossing one another obliquely, with crossing slits at the points of intersection, has the width of these crossing slits 2.5 3.5 times the thickness of the bands passing through them. This enables tubes to be inserted with reduced resistance, provided one or two adjacent spaces are vacant.
