PURPOSE:To prevent color effusion between different color images as a dot matrix consisting of low-permeability ink dots and high-permeability ink dots in color image recording for each picture element, using ink of multiple colors. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 1 of an ink jet recorder has four recording portions 1a to 1d corresponding to the four colors of black, cyan, magenta and yellow, and records color images by discharging ink of each color in response to image information from nozzles provided at the bottom of the head. In this case, a unit picture element by which each of the recording portions 1a to 1d record is a dot matrix consisting of low-permeability ink dots and high-permeability ink dots. When a black image and a cyan image, for example, adjoin each other, a color image area where cyan ink dots are printed and a color image information area where black and cyan ink dots are placed alternately longitudinally and latitudinally in the same number are made to adjoin each other and thereby color effusion between the images are prevented. |
