<p>Heat exchanger for plant burning oil-water emulsions, to suppress vapour emission from the combustion chamber, consists of a series of flat pocketlike plate elements mounted parallel through which the oil- water mixture is passed. Above is a common distribution system and a collection system below. In the other side the hot exhaust gases flow from the combustion chamber. The plates are mounted vertically, with the oil-water mixture dropping by gravity and the hot exhaust gases rising in counter-flow on the other side. For use with plants burning oil-water mixtures esp. where wide variations in its composition can occur e.g. drilling emulsions. This can include both water and dirt content. The system described permits the best possible preparation and concentration of oil-water mixtures and combines this with a treatment of the exhaust gas to suppress polluting residual components.</p> |
