Crane for tree trunks in timber yard - has bark remover mounted on transport vehicle with trunk advanced by crane

The manipulator for tree trunks in timber yards comprises a transporter vehicle (2, 3) with a crane and a trunk depositer, which moves past sorting boxes. On the vehicle is at least one trunk working device, pref. a saw or a bark-removing machine (11), and relative movement can be produced between this and the trunk (9) on the depositor in the longitudinal direction of the trunk. Pref. the bark-removing machine is mounted stationary on the vehicle, while the trunk is moved relatively to it in the longitudinal direction. The transporter vehicle pref. consists of a main vehicle (2) to which is connected via a retractable cable (4) an auxiliary vehicle (3) with a drive mechanism (5) which maintains the cable under tension.
