<p>Pump has a cylinder (1) containing a reciprocating piston which is on the end of a piston rod the upper end of which is pinned to a lever arm. This arm is bent at right angles with one half held in two bearings. As this half pivots on its own axis, the other half moves in a vertical plane and drives the piston rod up and down. A second lever rigidly attached to the horizontal section of the first lever hangs vertically down below it. This second lever carres a weight at its bottom and swings as a pendulum with the rotation of the upper lever. The pendulum weight balances the reciprocating weight of the piston statically and dynamically.</p> |
