PURPOSE: To avoid sheet loss at the start up by blocking sheet feed and stopping carriage thereof when correct abutting of a first sheet on the leading edge is detected and starting sheet feed and carriage when the angular position of a printing machine corresponds to a specified state at a roller drive section. CONSTITUTION: A sheet is carried through a sheet feed table 3 until a scanner 4 detects correct abutting of a first sheet on the leading edge. Based on detection of the scanner 4, a sheet feeder 2 is interrupted and the sheet feed table 3 is stopped. A control section 10 compares the instantaneous angle of an angle sensor 9 with a specified target and when a sheet feed offset printing machine 1 is rotating at a specified r.p.m, i.e., when an ink transfer roller is at a specified operating position, a front clipper 7 is unlocked, the first sheet is grasped, the sheet feeder 2 is operated and the sheet is carried through the sheet feed table 3. Subsequently, the first sheet is delivered to a first sheet guide drum 8. |
