Device for compacting worn tyres of private vehicles. The invention relates to a method and the devices which allow it to be implemented. Its object is to facilitate the handling and storage of the compacted products. It is a matter of cutting the wire beads of the tyre at at least four points, then in folding it under the radial action of one motor at least, in line with one of the cuts made previously. The tyre, clamped and held in this form, is then bound by any suitable means. The method presented is particularly suitable for automatically processing a large volume of tyres. <IMAGE>
