A motor/pump assembly consists of two linked coaxial components (8, 11) with radial partitions (13 - 18 and 19 - 24) forming a series of detonation and pumping chambers. The two components are located between disc flanges (9, 10), with one component fixed relative to the axis (12) of the assembly and the other able to reciprocate. The motor's detonations are designed so that the moving component turns first in one direction and then the other, with the alternating motion converted into a one-way rotation, if needed, by a suitable external assembly. The pump chambers can be used to supply a fluid under pressure for energy transfer or to deliver a fluid from one point to another.
