PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a type of switching power supply which is known as a 'charge pump'. SOLUTION: A charge pump power supply 10 includes two or more operating modes. An input protective circuit 16 is connected between the input of the power supply 10 and a voltage source 26. The input protection circuit 16 regulates a voltage at the input of the power supply 10 and limits a current at the input 10, when making a switch from a weak mode to a strong mode and prevents inversion of the current, when switching from a strong mode to a weak mode. In certain modes, the power supply 10 continuously supplied power to a load 24 and dispenses with an output capacitor 22. |
