PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preserve vegetables and fruits for a long period. SOLUTION: An air supply means 12 is situated in a space between the bottom of a vegetable container 8 and a partition, situated such that the bottom part of the vegetable container 8 forms a double bottom and having a number of holes formed therein. A switch 13 at the inside of a door 7 and an air supply means 12 are coupled to each other through an electric wiring. A mechanism is constituted that the air supply means 12 is operated as a result of the switch 13 being brought into an ON-state when the door 7 is pulled out from the body 1. In this case, the door 7 and the vegetable container 8 are intercoupled and the vegetable container 8 is pulled out with an upper surface being brought into a released state together with the door 7. Thereby, when the air supply means 12 is operated, a gas component heavier than air to promote ageing and deterioration of vegetables and fruits can be high efficiently discharged to the outside.
