A method for extending capacity and use of a memory card including a controller and a non-volatile memory is provided to easily extend a memory capacity of the memory card, and enable a user to use the memory card for storing music or game contents. The memory card(100) includes the controller(120) and the non-volatile memory(110). An extension module(200) is compatible with the memory card. A connector(300) electrically connects the memory card with the extension module. The extension module includes a memory extension module(210). The extension module is the contents of a mask ROM type.
