PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for selecting a video signal are provided to supply inputted resolution information of an external video signal, thereby enabling a user to easily select the video signal. CONSTITUTION: A sync counter(130) counts sync signals that a sync separator(120) separates. A resolution determiner(140) determines resolution of a video signal according to a coefficient result. A controller(170) recognizes an input state of an external video signal based on the resolution determining result to supply information showing the input state and the resolution determining result through a display screen. A video processor(150) plays a video signal inputted from the selected external device according to a control signal of a controller based on an input signal for selecting an external device. |
