The generator can be used as induction or linear motor. Itcontains a theree-phase primary winding (15A, 15B, 15C) connectedto AC supply (14) forming travelling magnetic field in addition toand alternating field, and a secondary winding (16A, 16B, 16C)fitted in such a way as to be connected to the alternating and thetravelling field. When three-phase AC currents ia1, ib1, ic1 runacross the primary winding (15), alternating magnetic flux isformed which generates an alternating field and a revolvingmagnetic field. In addition electromoving voltages are induced inthe secondary winding (16) which are bigger than the energysupplied to primary winding (15) where self-excitation is producedand symmetrical three-phase AC current ia2, ib2, ic2 are running.The voltage and current induced in the secondary winding (16) arecontrolled by the regulation of the ratio of the number of windingof the primary (15) and the secondary winding (16).10 claims, 27 figures |
