<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, a cartridge unit, and an adapter member which provide good operability in mounting and detaching even when a developing cartridge is reduced in size. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus where the developing cartridge having a developing means for forming a toner image by supplying toner to a photoreceptor drum is detachably mountable on a mounting portion includes: a lock member 18 which releasably locks the developing cartridge 5a; a lock means which releasably locks the developing cartridge 5a to the apparatus main body; and a switching means which switches the lock state and the lock release state of the developing cartridge 5a by the lock member 18, and which releases the lock of the developing cartridge 5a by the lock member 18 and also locks the developing cartridge to the apparatus main body by the lock means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
