PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing state monitoring system capable of controlling by a PC the printing job state of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A PC102 includes: a screen display control section 202 for displaying the execution state of a print job; a message processing section 210 which generates and manages a PC side address for uniquely identifying a generation source of print data in message transfer processing, and a message address for uniquely identifying a print job in the message transfer processing; print data generation section 206 for generating, as the print data, data by embedding the PC side address and the message address in a document generated by an application section 204; and a print data transmission section 208 for transmitting the print data via a network. The PC transmits/receives a message to/from a print server 108, and displays on a desktop screen the printing state or a generated error of at least a print job whose printing has been finished. |
