<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring micro optical power reaching a receiving side using a photon detector. <P>SOLUTION: A photon detector 1 detects presence/absence of photon arrival in accordance with a bias application timing. Regarding a light pulse stream made incident in any arbitrary timing in each of time slots, the bias application timing is shifted sequentially within the range of the time slots to count the number of detected photons by a photon counter, and to measure the optical power of the light pulse stream based on the number of photons. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
