The novel compound of Formula I is prepared (a) by condensing (CH 3 O) 3 P with a compound of Formula III in which Hal signifies bromine or chlorine in an inert organic solvent, or (b) by reacting CH 3 0M in which M is H or an alkali metal with a compound of the Formula V in which Hal is bromine or chlorine, with the proviso that when M is hydrogen the reaction is carried out in the presence of an acid binding agent. Compounds of Formula III may be obtained by reacting compound IV with sulphonyl chloride or bromide in a solvent such as chloroform. Compound IV may be obtained by reacting 3-methyl-1-pentyne-3-ol with diketene preferably in the presence of a condensation agent such as trialkylamine at 60-70‹ C. for 1 to 2 hours. Compound V may be made by reacting compound IV with phosphorus oxychloride or oxybromide in an inert solvent and in the presence of an acid acceptor at - 10‹ to + 50‹ C. Compound I has insecticidal and acaricidal properties. |
