<p>Permanent non-iron, creaseproof finishes, resistant to washing and dry-cleaning, contain as softener a fatty acid carbamate, deriv. of formula:- R(OCH2CH2)mO.CO.NB.A.(NHCOR')p (where R is 10-22C alkyl, alkenyl or acyl; n is 0 to 40 (and over 2 if R is acyl); A is the group remaining after removing all isocyanate groups from an aromatic polyisocyanate; R' is (m)ethylphenoxy or 2-oxohexahydro-azepin-1-yl gp. and p is integer >=1). Pref. compositions contain 5-95% crease-proofing non-ironing agent, pref. an aminoplast resin, more pref. dimethylol dihydroxyethylene urea, and 50-5 weight % carbamate; and are pref. applied to the textiles with a curing catalyst for the non-ironing cpd.</p> |
