1293113 Transistor pulse generating circuits STORAGE TECHNOLOGY CORP 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970] 25650/71 Heading H3T [Also in Division G5] A phase-encoded write current signal having transitions between a positive value and a negative value is applied via a write bus to a write driver circuit comprising at least one output transistor 16, 17, means for applying the write current signal to the base of the output transistor, and a capacitor C1 connected in the emitter circuit of the output transistor, so that upon a transition of the write current signal the output transistor drives a write coil 11 connected to its collector with current which is initially high and decays exponentially to a lower level, Fig. 2d. Resistors R1, R2, R3 establish a time constant such that this exponential decay is not completed during the shorter transitions in the write current signal, the current through the write coil 11 being initially higher after a longer transition than after a shorter transition. |
